- Just starting Trail of Crumbs by Kim Sunée. Already I know it is just the book I need.
- Still listening to House of Mirth on my commute (Corley! I like it quite a bit).
- Rediscovering the silly sinister art of James Flora.
- Maintaining a Diet Coke free status. Feeling certain I really am kicking the habit.
- Can a girl drink enough peppermint tea?
- Intrigued by the Edna Lewis essay in January's Gourmet, "What is Southern?"
- Convinced the next book I read/listen to must be The Heart is a Lonely Hunter.
- Loving the cool mornings here. Please last forever oh beautiful Winter months.
- Dwell subscription began last week -- enjoyed pouring over it last night. Talk about passionate letter-writing subscribers!

You just reminded me I am out of mint tea.
It's one of the best things.
Hello - I read your blog that mentions the Edna Lewis's essay in the January issue of Gourmet Magazine.
I was privileged to get to know Miss Lewis during the last years of her life. I am a documentary maker in Atlanta, Georgia and I've produced a documentary about Edna Lewis, her life and her relationship with Scott Peacock.
It is featured on the Gourmet Magazine website.
The link is on the site.

My documentary is called Fried Chicken and Sweet Potato Pie.
You can also see the documentary on the Georgia Public Broadcasting site C-47:

My website, http://bbarash.com/index.htm has more information about the film and the story of Miss Lewis.

Perhaps Lilly is calculating, as you said, but her computations aren't always right. I finished it the other day, and liked it so much more than I had imagined I would.
Ahh... Dwell. Love it.
