the treasure box from new england

There is something about being born in October. We - the October borne - have a keen sense for the delights in life.

Imagine my delight when I opened a birthday care package from Tits McGee, a fellow October baby...

The card in all of its unopened glory:

Signature Tits alert:

The sweetest message of all time:

Awww. I am crazy about you, Tits McGee!
Presentation is everything:

Again! This is so beautifully packaged! Now...what's inside the box?:

Treasures, that's what!!!

Upon closer inspection...

I received a kite that's ready to fly! This is so thrilling. I can't wait to try it out!

Pustefix rainbow bubbles!? Umm, triple points for Tits. How does she know I heart bubbles? They are like quiet fireworks! Keep reading this post and you will definitely be in for a grand finale.

A bouncy ball that secrets a pansy? Delightful:

As is the backside:

And what is this? A fortune-telling fish? It tells me I am jealously indifferent. Or indifferently jealous. I tell it, "You're awesome, MIRACLE FISH":

She also gave me a golden bead for which I have many ideas:

And what now? A rainbow-star spring, that's what! Did Tits know I was a Rainbow Brite fan*atic? She must have...

When stretched, it looks like this:

The best spider ring of all time now lives with me:

It actually has a mind of its own; it jumped off my finger shortly after I snapped that photo and landed on Jane. There is only one explanation, of course: Jane is a Spider Whisperer:

Thank you, Tits McGee, for making my birthday so delightful! You are the bee's knees, and I am forever grateful that you are in my company!
***
And now, for the grand finale - a show as beautiful as the babe in New England - bubbles blowing in the South Florida breeze:

Look at all of those wishes...
Up, up and away.

Those bubbles just made my head go squishy.

When I lived in a 5th floor dorm room that had a window that actually opened (no a/c) I used to spend hours blowing bubbles out the window and watching people's reactions when they saw them floating around the sidewalk. I was such a weird freshman!

Is that kite pocket-size? Perfect for a purse, in case of wind emergency? I keep one in my trunk at all times, but THAT is just genius. My trunk wasn't with me in Houston when I needed it! Now you really have to take advantage of Loggerhead. And make me all jealous.

Tits is so cool. And of course she has that lovely funky handwriting. I wish I could go to her blog right now, but I'm at work (and I don't think they'd approve of her address.)
