• Don't mind the timestamp: it's a late Friday night and I've decided to come back to Blogger. I was feeling so out of step with ye old Duck Motif during my vacation. I even began a list of my favorite-sounding words. Please know that I am especially fond of camaraderie, but that I will never bore you with the rest.
• I took 160 pictures of Anywhere, Oregon + San Francisco. I'm just a bit lazy to get some of my favorites posted.
  
• I wanted to start sewing serving aprons while I was in Portland, but that never happened. My mom has the Mercedes-Benz of sewing machines, while mine was my grandmother's - it's as old as I am. It works, oh yes - but it's a fickle little bitch. It needs to be serviced in a bad way - like my car, my bike, my teeth, etc.
• Classes have resumed - my last semester. I always do this: pick a favorite, devote myself to it, and then curse myself when I discover how up a shit creek I am. I should know by now.
  
• I'm reading Rum Punch by Elmore Leonard. It was the book Quentin Tarantino turned into Jackie Brown. I'm reading it because it falls into the crime fiction genre - and an assignment of mine is to read a genre I might otherwise not read. Wow. This book is a trip, especially because it is set in Palm Beach County, FL. My neighborhood is mentioned. The building Steve worked in (ahem, the exact floor he worked on) is mentioned. Crazy! It really makes me wish I had the Jackie Brown DVD for the weekend (though it took place in LA)...alas...I'm enjoying the book for what it's worth.
• There's a remote possibility I'll be moving soon - not far; to a different part of town. I'm psyched for this. I peered into the windows of this maybe house tonight and maybe I'll have a fireplace. Maybe I'll live on a lake, folks. ...Maybe I'll even have the terrazzo floors that Steve wants more than anything. Maybe, maybe, maybe.
