I am craving a marathon of David Sutherland's 1998 documentary,
The Farmer's Wife. Here it is some seven years later, and I'm wondering what Darrel, Juanita, Audrey, Abby, and Whitney Buschkoetter are up to. This is possibly the best documentary
ever - why, why, why is it only available on VHS?!!

hi, noticed you were interested in David's film---and the Buschkoetters...after viewing the film I emailed David for an update (this was in 2004)...Juanita & Darrel are / were seperated...Audrey is at Hastings Comm. College while Abby is at another comm. college in Lincoln, I think Whitney is almost ready to graduate--they've really grown up! Abby has a myspace.com page---take a look, the girls look so much like Juanita!
Just a correction. I am actually from Nebraska, and Audrey is at Hastings College, not community, and the Buschkoetter's have since reconciled. Some of my distant family live near Nelson, which is near Lawrence. The documentary is available on DVD now, through PBS. I broke down and bought the VHS and had a friend convert them to DVD; just my luck, 2 months later and it is available on DVD.
I go to college in Minnesota, and I bought to remind me of home. It is Nebraska to a 'T'!! And yes, I agree; It could be the best documentary ever...although Living DOLLS was really good.
