Adventures in "Next Blogging"

I am too embarrassed to say how much time I've wasted hitting the "Next" feature on the top right of my blog. I'm fairly new to Blogger.com, but have been around just long enough to know that there are a lot of crappy blogs circulating (mine completely excluded of course). On the other hand, there are also some good ones and some exceptional ones that I come across and make note of. But this post isn't about the good: it's about the ugly, 92% of what Blogger blogs are. During my "Next Blog" marathons...
  • I find myself skimming over a lot of ads about casinos and commentary on casinos, but the text is so choppy I can't believe anyone wastes their time tending to it. I also pan a lot of blogs titled "XYJKLJLKJERIFJK" that post top secret messages, often with "and and" as the title of choice. Ok, so they're trying to make a buck, but do they really think anyone will buy something from their cryptic blog?
  • Then there are the political blogs, which I do love, but more often than not they're CONSERVATIVE! blogs, which link to Ann Coulter and have the lighthouse template as their design scheme. So very made in the USA, right? Usually these bloggers have no shame in admitting they have the stars and bars on their T-shirts, flying over their trailers, and tattooed in all the right places.
  • The planet is being taken over by Canadian blogs, which are not necessarily ugly by any means, just...uhh, Canadian, you know?
  • And if Canadian blogs aren't taking over the world, then Christian Fundamentalist teenage girls are. Did you know that many, many a girl in Anytown, USA wants to marry a pastor and can quote the Bible like all twenty-something males can quote gangster movies? Gotta love a good God blog, especially when a conflicted teenage girl is at the helm.
  • Probably my least favorite "Next Blog" phenomenon is coming across a tween blogger that decided to fuck away the free html templates and instead post some low-budget Anime graphic, throw in a cheesy tune that plays automatically, and post who they're chatting with. I HATE coming across those fuckers -- especially because the "Next Blog" feature is either disabled or just plain old doesn't function. Ok, so you know html...why don't you spend all that energy doing your homework?

Which brings this post to an end...I now have to spend my energy seeking out good blogs.

Wow--you read my mind. Except for the whole Canadian. I'm Canadian. We blog to stop the spread of flag-waving conservatives in tacky start and stripe t-shirts!

Man, it's been a long day. Sorry, most Canadians don't make as many typos as I just did.

I am shaming my countrymen.

You must have hit my blog with a "Next Blog" marthon. I check all the hits to my blog and came across yours. It is entertaining, and if you do not mind I will put it on my Blog Roll.

As for the world being taken over...I noticed during my marathons that many, many blogs are from Malaysian exchange students.

The "Next Blog" is cool too because if you see something you like you can View the Source and learn how to incorporate that into your own blog!!
