Feeling listy:
· Missing Portland (this encompasses family, cool summers, roses in bloom, the campfire + wind + straw smell at the beach – which isn't Portland, but whatever).
· Reading Half a Life by Darin Strauss. This review from Entertainment Weekly hooked me (read: I recently went on a trip with a couple of friends, one of whom brought along Half a Life. The book is slender enough that the three of us devoured it in three days — and beautifully written enough that we spent the rest of the trip discussing it).
· Addicted to Osama bin Laden news.
· We're slowly moving to a new house – Steve is making some repairs before we move in, so we're in two places right now. Living in two places is not a good feeling. At all. My brain is way too delicate for such things. Speaking of brains…
· George accidentally whacked me in the nose with his hard little head last night. I made silly crying sounds because I thought I really was going to cry. And then he laughed at me. So how can you cry when George is laughing? You cannot. But I will tell you: today my brain feels swollen.
· I'm starting a book club at the library. I have this excited feeling about it, even though I might suck at facilitating it. First up: My Antonia, next month.

-How exciting about the book club! You won't suck at facilitating it...au contraire!
-The boogie man had to be shot in the head and dumped in the ocean at some point.
-Your poor nose!
-Portland misses you.
oo, my antonia! i've never read it and NPR just talked it up. you'll be fine. if it's anything like my book clubs, we talk about the book in between drinking alcohol. it's nice.
i do hope your brain is feeling better soon!
