things looking up, going up

Jury duty was a bust - my long anticipated day as a potential juror turned out only to be a test of patience and a reminder that I cannot concentrate enough to read in bustling places; people-watching always gets the better of me. Though called to possibly sit on a trial, the excitement stopped just short of voir dire; the witness was a no-show so we were released. There were perks, however:
  1. Steve and I were able to carpool
  2. we had our a.m. coffee together
  3. and then we had lunch together
  4. and then, I was released from jury duty shortly after lunch
  5. and then, we shared a p.m. coffee break together
My civic duties didn´t end there, though. Our precious city commission had a run-off vote yesterday between two Nov. 4 candidates so I went back to the polls. And I voted for the winning commissioner (yes!).

It´s hard out here for a citizen.

What a good citizen you are. I've never been called for jury duty(knock on wood).

BTW Did they find that scary serial killer that was lurking around the malls in Palm Beach county yet? I don't even live down there anymore and just thinking about it scares me still.
