Here are two things I absolutely adore about my corner of the Sunshine State:
- Supermarkets and their human scales near the entrances. Maybe this isn't unique to Florida but I like to think so. You never see a woman on one! Always men and children. And why are these scales there? I have absolutely no idea. But they are charming, and I love them.
- We are close enough to the ocean that we see a lot of stars at night. Tons; well, unbelievable amounts! And we see fantastic shooting stars and fireballs to boot.
Ok, New York: up next.

scales at a supermarket?? is that like a breathalyser at the liquor store?
hahaha! i never thought of our publix scales as quaint. i love how large they are, though. as if one is actually measuring themselves... and then themselves + groceries. i've always wanted to do that to see how much poundage of stuff i'm buying.
I heart Fl too. Now that you mention it I never noticed women on the scales either...hmm.
I heart Florida. Well, South Florida. Well...the Keys.
OK, I dislike most of Florida.
