After a couple of months of floating to different branch libraries because I was technically libraryless, my home branch is finally in its end stages of being remodeled. Here's a distant view of the reference desk...we'll open in a couple of weeks to the dear public.

Excuse me Miss... Would you be so kind as to point me towards the section housing Encyclopedia Brown books? (Do those still exist?!)
Haven't stepped foot into a public library since moving to San Francisco. Boo me.
It looks cute and coffee-shop-ish.
I think I really like the colors. I could be wrong, but it looks like lime and teal?
Why does it say "FORMATION" or something like that, backwards and reversed I might add, on the far side of the desk?
Aha! It's Information. Something a few fellow reference librarians are a bit miffed about...but not me. Libraries put way too much stock in their signage and people never read it, anyway!
well, fuck. your library looks soooo much better than mine.
... probably smells a lot better, too.
I nearly sent out an email today having left the "in" out of "information" because I got 4 hours of sleep last night and came to work after vacation to 3 emergencies. So glad I proofread it, because it was to another lawyer who tends to be mean to me. Lawyers are jerks.
Did you ever get to go to the Gardens library off of PGA? The Gardens library used to be walking distance from my house and my best friend in middle school moved to the neighborhood next to mine and she was SO excited about being close to the library, but then the library moved to walking distance from her old house within a few months of her move! It was so disappointing.
