just for the taste of it

I took the cheesiest picture of some fallen orchids last week - but I am so tempted to share it here, so I think I will:

There. I feel better. (You can hear the modern jazz in this picture, can't you?)

I never thought I would say this, but I miss the sunshine! I just want to be in the warm outdoors! Looks like the cloud cover will be hanging around for at least a few more days. Could I ever move back to Portland? Sheesh. The deep thoughts I kick around in my head.

Here are some random artists and songs from the 02/2007 playlist (a.k.a. the first playlist) that wafts from my new car stereo and speakers:
  • Pink Martini / The Gardens of Sampson and Beasley
  • Yeah Yeah Yeahs / Gold Lion
  • Stevie Nicks / Stand Back
  • The Cars / My Best Friend's Girl
  • Azure Ray / Displaced
  • Neil Young / Heart of Gold
  • Ivy / Edge of the Ocean
  • M. Ward / Sad, Sad Song
  • Kimiko Ono / Thème Générique Fin
  • Dave Alvin / King of California
  • Metric / Poster of a Girl
  • Death Cab for Cutie / Soul Meets Body
  • Decemberists / On The Bus Mall
  • Phoenix / Everything is Everything
  • Tracy Chapman / Fast Car
  • Sigur Rós / Sæglópur
  • Shakira! Shakira! / Hips Don't Lie
  • Rosie Thomas / Wedding Day
No poison oak. Crisis averted. Now let's party.

Not cheesy at all-they are very pretty. I'll have to check out your playlist---I'm not cool enough to know some of them...

I have lately been playing Soul Meets Body over n over n over n over.
Great tune!
I'll check out some of the others next time I'm in iTunes; I don't know many of these.
Oh, and nice orchid! Mine is finally coming back after 6 months of naked stalk.

If that's cheesy, then cut me off a hunk, because I'd like to eat it right up.

I love the song "Everything is Everything" from Phoenix. It is on the "Six Feet Under" soundtrack and I think I wore it out listening to that song when I first bought the cd!
