the future is here and it is plastic

I feel compelled to share with the world that I, Madge Q. Blogger, use an electric tea kettle.

It's made by my favorite most unappealing named maker of cheap-ass appliances: Proctor Silex.

I'm a tidge appalled by this - isn't the preparation of tea half of why I drink it? That I pour hot water out of a plastic piece of crap is somewhat disappointing.

But it works so quickly. I'm using far less energy than heating a kettle on the stove.

It's just all too unglamorous.

Know what's really glamourous?

If you ever drink espresso, get the traditional Italian espresso maker and you can make it on your stove.

I so want to get one, just for the looks of it - I'm still a kid, don't drink no espresso.

I like those things-I don't even have that though. My method is even less glamourous, I use a pot...my coffe maker is kind of fancy though so I don't feel like a total loser.

i have a real kettle, except it takes 10 minutes to wash it every time i use it b/c i leave it on the stove and it gets crusted with oil spatters and spaghetti sauce and stray olive slices.

your kettle is WAY more glamorous than mine. it weeps in dirty, dirty jealousy.

These are oh so hip in SW Connecticut. Welcome to the almost-New-York jet set.
