'tis the season in south florida

My neighbors have their Christmas lights up and burning. It's November 2; 5:04 pm (there is still another good hour of daylight remaining). I just can't believe it! Spinning Girl hasn't even had her birthday and folks are hanging up lights.

This conversation *could* happen in the future:

"So, Madge, when is your birthday?"

"October 29th."

"OMG! You're a Christmas baby!"

I know - I used to work in retail - this gun-jumping happens every year. But damn! It always startles me.

Maybe Florida is the new Oklahoma - maybe they've stayed up all year, but tonight they're plugged in?

Well, I love it. I want an excuse to be cheerful, hopeful, and loving again. Those lights only imply family, good food and good times. Bring 'em on!

Winds supposed to be high tomorrow - 25-35 mph here. So promise me you'll take the kite to Loggerhead, please! I need to live vicariously...
