- Last night, Steve and I made our first craigslist purchase. He scopes craigslist like a champ, sends me e-mails while he is at work ("what do you think of this?"), and then we discuss the possibilities of picking up whatever random item he sends my way. It is a thrilling process. And 98% of the time, we do not act. But last night, we followed a hunch about a wool rug via Spain (faded cyan, deep chocolate, and ochre in color - picture to come soon) and went to shell out $20 for it (a steal I assure you!) and take it home. I have to say, the woman we bought it from was so nice. She was wearing Birkenstocks. In my world, if you wear Birkies, you are automatically the nicest person in the world and could do no harm to others (others includes spiders). As we peeled the beautiful rug off her floor and slung it over our shoulders and headed out the door, she wished us, "good luck!" I am cheesy to admit such a thing, but the whole experience was just so beautiful. Big ups for humanity. And we just bought a rug. From a stranger. Who wore Birkies.
