daily dottages
- I bought a panini press tonight. And then I made this recipe. Mmm. It could be a great deal white trash to be as in love with Betty Crocker as I am, but I am okay with that - "her" website is just too much fun. I have linked Betty to my blog, so ch-ch-ch-check 'er out. (From past experience, I can tell you that "her" praline bars are synonymous with ecstasy.)
- Hmmm. The holidays are coming, the holidays are coming!
This photograph was probably taken around 5:45 a.m., December 25th, 1983 (or 4). Did $5 ever make you so happy? I can tell from the envelope my sister (btw, she always had way better hair than me) is holding that this present was secreted under the tree by my grandpa, who - according to family tradition still kept - was there the night before at the Christmas Eve family shin dig. He was stealth like that. I like this picture because it is cozy. I'm wearing a cardigan instead of a robe - which I never have taken to wearing, and I'm wearing it because the furnace hadn't kicked on just yet (I bought a robe last year and it feels a little too suffocating).

So your cardigan habit started early?
I've already done some christmas shopping. MOST of the women in my life are already taken care of.
You and your sis look like twins!
I had a great uncle who used to find clever ways of packaging money for us at christmas. One year he filled every slot in a picture album with one dollar bills. So much fun!
um... $5 still makes me jump for joy. i might even achieve a similar grin to the one mini-you has on display there.
hooray for the broke students!!

Yep, I'm with Meghan. I found a five dollar bill in my raincoat this morning and got so excited that I hit myself in the head with my umbrella.
I need help.
