  • After so much discussion following the comment I made about The Time Traveler's Wife, I am tempted to blog exclusively about books! It was so much fun to read your comments. To let you know how "far" I am in TTTW, Gomez has just expressed to Clare that she shouldn't marry Henry and then Clare takes a shower. Ohh la la. I still have a lot of pages coming to me, but I really am determined to finish. I haven't read Life of Pi, but I loved Catcher in the Rye; I do have a predilection for all things prep school. (I do not like anything by Hemingway, so there!) My most favorite book is Bastard Out of Carolina by Dorothy Allison. Do you know I tried to stalk her one summer when she was giving a workshop at Reed College? It didn't turn out too well. Hmm, I think of books in sections - children's lit, YA, adult fiction and then nonfiction. Perhaps I will post my favorites of each soon...
  • Speaking of blogging, I am starting another blog. If Kate, Tits McGee, and the rest of you can manage multiple blogs, would it be so hard for me to join the ranks? I tried once with my Little Tiny Parks blog, but things happened and I never got around to giving the attention it deserved. Since I do a lot of thrifting, I am photographing my before and after of the purchases I make to serve as a kind of a catalog of what I do with what I find. I am still developing it - hopefully one day soon I can give you the grand opening.
  • There was something missing from today: coffee. I missed it completely. That is probably why I didn't get all of my to-dos done.

Not even The Sun Also Rises? It's the only one I like so far, but I LOVE it. I tried Life of Pi, but I couldn't get into it. I felt like a failure. I will have to try Bastard Out of Carolina.

I tried to add a blog #3, but I only have 2 posts in it. Who knows where any will go, if anywhere... I figure safety in numbers - I keep killing them off, but maybe I'll stop if I have several.

Meghan - where are your other blogs?

Kat - excellent; it's nice to start off with a fan club.

Kate - Not even! I just don't care for him...I slightly liked The Old Man & the Sea, but I nowhere near loved it...and this makes me feel like a failure.

yea, i have another blog, too. but it only has one post! i think you had more than that with your tiny parks blog. so cute!

i love the idea of having a thrifting blog. i would, however, be insanely jealous of all the cool things you'd find. maybe i'll go thrifting this weekend, hmm...

my other blogs are scattered around.

one documents my dating experiences, so that when my sister turns 30 and i let her date, she can learn from my experiences.

one is a journal.

and one is a collection of situations i've gotten myself into that i found entertaining.

First if you like all things prep school you may want to read "Old School" by Tobias Wolf. Apparently it is really good, but I couldn't get into it.

Next the only Hemmingway I have read is "Old Man and the Sea" but I was young. My dad and I would take turns reading it out loud at night before bedtime. But beyond liking any of his books I just love the man. The Spanish Revolution, the shotgun to the head, hanging out in Paris with other artists I find it all very romantic.

Plus the thrifty blog sounds fabulous! Can't wait for the grand opening!

OK, I am DYING right now because I was just looking at your profile, and I cannot believe that "Get Over It" is among your favorite movies.

I freaking LOVE that stupid movie! "Hi new faces, how are you today? I am Doctor Desmond Forrest Oats, Fine Arts Chair....and all that hoopla."
