found

  • Best find in the bushes: runt kitten, a.k.a. itsie bitsie D. Sergei.
  • Largest bill I've ever found on the ground: $20.
  • Best find in a library book: postcard postmarked October 7, 1966; to Hazel from Kay (photo of Grand Tetons, Wyoming). Bonus: Kay's sentence: "The trees + shrubs are beautiful + garbed in gold + crimson + nestled among the evergreens on the mtns." Loving the word garbed. Loving.
  • Best find at a thrift shop: mint condition The Official Preppy Handbook by Lisa Birnbach ($1.00); "Mom + Dad" gave this book to "Marg." for a birthday gift and threw in a gratuitious "teehee!" just for me, I'm certain.
  • Strangest find in restaurant food, ever: shard of glass.
  • Best find on the curbside: three old wooden chairs in perfect shape.
  • Best find at Williams Sonoma: a French-inspired tablecloth marked down 75%. I sewed it into curtains.
  • Best find my sophomore year of high school: my best friend, L.
  • Yuckiest find in the dressing rooms during my Gap days: used maxi pad pressed against the wall.
  • Best celebrity find in Florida: George Hamilton, taking a walk.
  • Creepiest find on the front porch: The message in a bottle my older sister and I threw into the Pacific Ocean - the message included our names and address; said bottle ended up on our doorstep the next morning, 70 miles away.
  • Most perplexing find while being a snoopy babysitter: severe Christian Fundamentalists' voter registration cards: Democrats!
  • Best find two miles down the road: that speeding bitch, pulled over by highway patrol.
  • Best $2 find in South Florida: round-trip Tri-Rail ride to Miami on the weekends.
  • Best D. Sergei find: baby frog.
  • Best Cole find: frightened baby bird trapped in the shrubs.
  • Best find in Portland, Maine: Longfellow's house.
(to be continued...)

My best find is a ring... I found it outside the elevator on the seventh floor of my freshman dorm. It fits like it was meant to :)
