I absolutely adore Sundays. A few years ago, I actually hated Sundays because it meant my weekend was over (you know the feeling: it's 11:00 a.m. Sunday and you're thinking, Damn! This time tomorrow I'll be back at the grind). I seriously made an effort to get over the Sunday grumps and to enjoy them for their full potential - a day off.
Recently, I have been in the habit of getting up very early on Sundays (maybe I should just say early): 6:30. I meet a friend for cappuccinos and then we walk around our tiny little downtown or we'll go thrifting before the stores get too busy. I have been enjoying this ritual so much - it is a very quiet time and helps me wake up and refreshes me in general.
Today is one of those days where the schedule hasn't held up as promised - instead, Steve and I are helping others move and paint their new house. I did this all day yesterday and my hands and back are a little torn up. The process of painting an entire house in 12 hours is not recommended unless you have Steve on your team, because he is the trim MASTER. Precision quality at light-speed. I am always handed a roller because I am slow at the trims. Have you ever seen my handwriting? I write slowly but I think it always looks nice.
Steve pointed something out to me awhile ago: he has a hard time watching HGTV room/house makeover programs because he thinks it is ridiculous how projects have to be turned around in one single weekend. What sort of quality do you get in that time? I think why we painted an entire house in 12 hours was a side effect of HGTV/DIY syndrome. Which is fine. But I can't work miracles. I am Madge. I excel at things like blogging.

I just want to know who thought it was a good idea to paint and move in the same weekend? I think they can be charged with attempted murder.
*been there* **bad idea**
Totally with Steve on this one. They give people an unrealistic view of projects. I watch some of them, but I also know in the back of mind they are total bullshit.
I agree with Steve also. What they don't show you is the 20 painters behind the scenes, painting like mad. It's a ruse. A ruse I tell you! A hoax.
Excuse me.
Take a bath for your back and then place one warm feline on the lower back region. Helps every time.
My friend and I were just talking about that! I don't understnad why there's always this silly time crunch.
I guess on those shows when they have a huge group of people working on the project, it gets done faster.
Your Sunday ritual sounds nice. I would love to go thrifting and coffee drinking!
I tagged you on my blog by the way for a short and sweet music meme.
